Why book a check-up?

Teeth are one of the most important parts of the body, and it pays to take care of them as much as we can. In addition to brushing twice daily, a routine check-up ensures that all is well, and if you have developed issues, they can be treated much more effectively. It's much better to have routine check-ups than wait for problems to start; many dental problems can occur without you knowing!

They are also the perfect opportunity to discuss any dental or oral concerns, such as lumps, pains or discolouration. At Penzance Dental, we are happy to book you in for a quick dental check-up; in many cases you will only need an appointment once or twice a year.

What will happen during my check-up?

If it's been a while since your last check-up, or you don't know what to expect, the check-up involves taking a look inside the mouth and seeing if all is well. It involves:

Checking the health and condition of your teeth, gums, tongue and the mouth in general
Inspecting fillings, bridges and dental implants
We might also carry out an x-way of your teeth (we will not usually need to do this every time)
Discuss any dental concerns you might have, and things we recommend you keep an eye on

If there's any work we recommend to help maintain a perfect smile, such as a visit to our hygienist, we are happy to book these for you; in some cases we can even book them together, saving you two trips!
